Jean-Marc Enixon
Vigneron
Talented, energetic, and sharp as a tack, Jean-Marc Enixon is a classically trained French vigneron and winemaker. His education and training encompass both winemaking and grape growing disciplines, giving him perspective on the entire process, from vineyard to grape to bottle.
The Early Years
Growing up in the small village of Manot, Jean-Marc spent his younger years helping out in the family’s quarry and forestry businesses before spending his teenage years in the family’s wine cellars. After graduating at the top of his class and filled with the desire to follow his family’s rural heritage, Jean-Marc completed a National Engineering Diploma in Agriculture at the prestigious Ecole Superiour d’Agriculture de Purpan in Toulouse. There he focused on winemaking and viticulture, and spent an entire year researching the relationship between vine water stress and grape maturity.
After completing his education, Jean-Marc gained international experience in Sonoma County, California and in the Gansu Province of China as a winemaking consultant. He then returned home to France, joining the Chateau Puy Guilhem in Saillans as Winemaking Director, where he spent 10 years leading the production of top-rated estate wines.
The Next Chapter
Jean-Marc’s background is rooted in the Old World, yet he embraces a modern approach to his craft. Seeking new challenges and keen to play a part in building the international reputation of the Okanagan wine region, Jean-Marc moved his young family to the South Okanagan. He joined the Culmina team as Vineyard Manager & Winemaker in 2016, where he has been pushing boundaries and crafting highly awarded, unique wines from our region’s exceptional terroir ever since.
